Forthcoming Joy Division Book

A book comprised of classic and contemporary writings of Journalist Paul Morley, Joy Division: Piece By Piece, is set for release in the U.K. on November 15 and in the U.S. on January 28, 2008. According to the book description, Morley wrote extensively about the band during the years in which it was active, witnessed Ian Curtis having a near-fatal epileptic seizure in April of 1980, and was the lone journalist permitted to see Curtis after his suicide. Post-Joy Division writings include, among other subjects, comments on the movies 24 Hour Party People and Control.

Speaking of Control, here is another French trailer for the movie, not previously seen on The Classic Alternative Blog. Parents should be advised that there are multiple f-bombs in this one. And in case you missed the news last week, the movie will open in the U.S. on October 10.
